Germany partially finances the modernisation of the AFU with a NATO-standard SAP solution
Funded by Germany and the US, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have begun preparations for implementing SAP Defence & Security, the automated defence resource management system used by 28 NATO armies. This was announced by the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence on its website.
The updated processes will be implemented by an international team that includes German and Ukrainian SAP specialists, experts from Ukrainian defence agencies, and representatives of an international implementation partner.
In addition to funding provided by Germany and the US, specialists from the armed forces of Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, Poland, and the US are also providing counselling support for the project which is intended to be completed by 2027.
New nephrology and dialysis department in a children’s hospital financed
With extensive financial assistance from the German government, a new nephrology and dialysis department has been opened in the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv, which was badly damaged last year due to a Russian terrorist attack. This was announced by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine on its website.
In addition to dozens of medical devices and furniture for lounges, treatment rooms and more, two water treatment systems, a fire protection system, ventilation and air conditioning systems, a medical lift for transporting patients in beds, the renovation of a surgery room and a powerful photovoltaic system to protect the department from power outages were also financed.
The German government provided a total of €14 million following the Russian attack on the children’s hospital. A total of €4 million in emergency funds and €10 million for the reconstruction. The German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) was also involved in the project on the German side.
