Quantum Systems to open second production facility in Ukraine

As the Managing Director of Quantum Systems Ukraine, Olexandr Berezhny, announced to BILD, a second production facility will be opened in Ukraine in September 2025. This is likely a consequence of an announcement published in February 2025.

The German drone manufacturer Quantum Systems, which in Ukraine attracted very positive attention early on with its Vector eVTOL UAVs and has since become an indispensable pillar of German military aid with over 700 reconnaissance drones delivered, is expanding its involvement in Ukraine even further.

As the Managing Director of Quantum Systems Ukraine, Olexandr Berezhny, announced to BILD, a second production facility will be opened in Ukraine in September 2025.

The first production facility was officially opened back in April 2024 during a visit by the former Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin and the former Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck.

Most likely, the opening of a second site, primarily for the production of Vector drone systems, is a consequence of Quantum Systems’ announcement in February 2025 that the company will double its production capacity in Ukraine this year.

However, exact details, i.e. the amount of money to be invested in the new factory, how many employees will work for Quantum Systems in Ukraine once the factory is up and running and what production capacities will soon be reached, are understandably a secret.

The only thing that is certain is that we are likely speaking of a considerable increase in engagement in Ukraine — and not just in relation to the production of Vector UAVs.

In a press release published today, the company already described itself as a “German-Ukrainian leader” and announced that it will acquire 10% of the Ukrainian robotics company Frontline, with the option to increase its shares to 25% within the next 12 months.

Just three months ago, both companies announced a strategic collaboration. The primary goal is to integrate Frontline’s C-UAS solution into the drone systems offered by Quantum Systems.

In conclusion, there is only one thing that can be said: Quantum Systems seems to be going full throttle on all fronts, and it doesn’t look as if they will even think about stepping on the brakes in the coming months or years.

It is a fact that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence in particular is likely to view very positively and of which Quantum Systems can be very proud.
