One week before the start of the new year, the German government has once again made its arms deliveries to Ukraine from the previous week public on the website intended for this purpose.

Just like last week, this is a somewhat larger and powerful delivery — you could even call it a German Christmas present!

The last pledged Gepard SPAAGs were delivered. Probably the most effective and most famous weapon system used against drones in Ukraine. With the latest delivery of 3 Gepard SPAAGs, the Ukrainian army now commands a total of 52 Gepard SPAAGs — all donated by Germany.

The German predator was accompanied by over 30,000 rounds of ammunition. The ammunition supplied was freshly produced APDS-T ammunition from Rheinmetall, which is particularly suitable for use against hardened targets.

In general, the deliveries of the last week seemed to focus on ammunition. In addition to the already mentioned Gepard SPAAG ammunition, new ammunition for the Leopard 2 MBTs was also delivered. Furthermore, 2,500 155 mm artillery shells and over 25,500 rounds of 40 mm ammunition for automatic grenade launchers were supplied to Ukraine.

In addition to the expected delivery of logistical vehicles such as the 2 HX81 tank transporters or the 8 Mercedes-Benz Zetros, two WiSENT 1 MC armoured mine clearing tanks were also delivered again after a somewhat longer period of time.

The WiSENT 1 MC gets produced by FFG, is based on a Leopard 1 chassis and is equipped with a mine plough from Pearson Engineering. Germany has so far delivered 14 WiSENT 1 MCs to Ukraine.

The delivery of two further AMPS should also be of interest. The Airborne Missile Protection System, which is being developed by HENSOLDT, is a flexible, stand-alone, off-the-shelf self-protection suite for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.

Germany will supply Ukraine with a total of 16 AMPS for use in helicopters. The following is a detailed list of all military aid delivered by Germany in the past week.

  • 3 Gepard SPAAGs
  • 10 Vector UAVs
  • 2 HX81
  • 5 semi-trailer for HX81
  • 8 Mercedes-Benz Zetros
  • 2 WiSENT 1 MC
  • 2 border protection vehicles
  • 8 vehicles

  • 2,500 shells of 155 mm artillery ammunition
  • 25,536 rounds of 40 mm ammunition for automatic grenade launchers
